C. Chocolate Drop 'Volcano Queen' (guttata x
aurantiaca)
This is a very popular hybrid registered in 1965. It took me a long time to
realize why it is called "Chocolate Drop". If you look at the buds they look
exactly like large drops of chocolate. The flowers are very waxy and
fragrant. If you look closely at this old file picture you will the the
chocolate colored buds and Tom holding a background for the picture. This is
before we became sophisticated. Plant is in a 4 inch pot, $25.

C. Christ Church 'Newberry Snow'
This is a large white standard sized Cattleya with a yellow throat. Near

C. schilleriana x C. Peckhaviensis
C. Peckhaviensis is schilleriana x aclandiae so this hybrid is 3/4 C.
schilleriana. Peckhaviensis is picture above and schilleriana to the left.

Lc. C.G. Roebling 'Sentinel' (C. gaskelliana
x L. purpurata var. werkhauseri)
Blooms twice a year when mature. Slate blue in color; original plant from
Ashcroft Nurseries in the late 1960s. Purchased by Sentinel Orchids in
Radnor, PA. Near blooming size, easy to grow plants in 5 inch pot, $35, in

Lc. Mary Ellen Carter 'Dixie Hummingbird'
HCC/AOS
Sepals old gold with burnt orange tinge on front margins and even burnt
orange on back; petals lemon-yellow with dark peach toward edges; lip vivid
magenta with yellow orange striations. Will open mostly yellow, deep orange
edging will develop in a period of days. Blooming size plant in 5 inch pot, $35.

Like all Laeliacatonias this plant produces clusters of medium sized

Lctna. Mighty Titan 'Parkside' AM/AOS
Our original plant (‘Parkside’ AM/AOS & CCM/AOS), pictured
left, has been the highlight of many orchid exhibits through the years and was
cloned recently. We are proud to have blooming size mericlones
of this wonderful plant for our June offering. Plants are
virtually ever-blooming once they reach large size and will respond

Potinara Sanyo Butterfly 'Parkside' AM/AOS
This was awarded in Philadelphia in 2004 and then sent off for cloning.
The description read: six well-shaped round flowers, consistent in size,
pleasingly displayed on two branched inflorescences; sepals and petals
canary yellow, edged peach on more mature flowers; petals lightly ruffled,
lip heavily ruffled, intense yellow internally, tipped crimson centrally,
tinged peach apically. Blooming size plants in 4 inch pot, $25.

Rhyncolaeliocattleya Digbyana Helen (Rhyncolaelia digbyana

If this ain't the most confusing nomenclature I have ever seen!!! On top
of that first it was Laelia tenebrosa, then it was Sophronits tenebrosa and
now it is Cattleya tenebrosa, would someone please make up my mind. Aside
from all this should be an interesting primary hybrid. Both parents are pictured at
