Masdevallia Species and Hybrids

Our collection of Masdevallia species and hybrids is grown in our intermediate greenhouse.  Winter temperatures range from 58 degrees at night to the mid 70s during the day.  Summer temperatures can rise as high as the mid 80s.  Our potted Masdevallias are grown in a mixture of sphagnum moss, tree fern and large perlite.  The majority of our plants are blooming size.
  Masdevallia Species

Masdevallia herradurae  A warm to intermediate grower produces dark red flowers with pointed tales around the base of the plants. Very full blooming size plants in 2.5 inch pots, $18.    SOLD OUT 01/08/12

Masdevallia kuhniorum
Found as a small sized,  warm growing epiphyte in Peru  in tropical rainforest. Inflorescence arises low on the leaf stem and carries up to 5 flowers borne in succession and occuring at almost any time as new stems mature.  Flowers display best in a hanging basket. Blooming size plant in 4 inch basket, $25. 

Masdevallia nidifica 
Miniature warm to cool growing plants produce lots of flowers. Plants   in 2.5 inch pots  $20.

Masdevallia princeps 
Dark amber colored flowers produced sequentially on this warm tolerant, fleshy plant.  In 2 1/4 inch pots, $25.

  Masdevallia reginae
This species is found in Peru. The flower is similar to M. princeps but slightly smaller.  Blooming size plant in 3 inch pot, $22.
