Aerides falcata aka Aerides houlletiana aka Aerides falcata var. houlletiana
A medium to large sized, hot growing species from Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia that produces many blooms in the spring and summer on a  pendulous inflorescence.. Flowers are quite fragrant. Ascocentrum curvifolium
Lots of small red flowers on a miniature plant, grow intermediate to warm blooms in the summer. Near blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $25

Ascofinetia Twinkle (Neofinetia falcata x Asctm. miniatum)
These are wonderful miniature vandaceous plants with bright orange sprays of flowers. These are blooming size plants in 3.5 inch pots, $25.

Ceratostylus philippinense 'Parkside'
This miniature sized, warm to hot growing epiphytic plant,comes from the Philippines.   It is free flowering in almost all seasons with solitary, white, fragrant flowers arising basally on a new growth and spread all over the dense foliage.    It may be mounted on cork or planted in a wood slat basket and is an easy plant to grow. These are divisions of the plant that received a CCM/AOS.   In 4 inch baskets, $28.

Ceratostylus retisquama  (syn rubra)
Philippine species with trailing habit, rhizome clothed in brown sheath, orange to red flowers. Intermediate conditions. Blooming size plant (divisions) in 4 inch basket, $30.

Chiloschista seqawai
This is referred to as the Asian Ghost Orchid. The plants are mounted and two years from blooming, $25.

  Chirrhea dependens
Grow in a partially shaded intermediate to warm greenhouse.  As a function of lower temperatures, watering should be reduced during winter, without the pseudobulbs becoming wrinkled too much. The main peak of flowering occurs between March-June flower spikes are pendant flowers are waxy and fragrant. Blooming size plant in 6 inch basket, $35.

Christensonia vietnamica
A newly discovered genus and species found in Vietnam. This is a  small sized, warm growing  monopodial epiphyte.  The green and white flowers are produced in the summer.  Blooming size plant in 4 inch basket, $30.

Chroniochillus virescens
This miniature species is found in Thailand, Borneo, Malaysia and Sumatra. Blooms through the summer,  successively single to 8 flowered inflorescence, very fragrant, short-lived, cupcake-smelling flowers.  These plants are mounted and $20.

Coelogyne massangeana aka tormentosa
This temperature tolerant species is found in the mountainous regions of Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and Java in river valleys. The 20-30 flowers on a bract are scented and are short lasting and delicate.on a terminal, to more than 15" [37.5 cm] long, pendant, racemose inflorescence arising with a new pseudobulb and leaf with a zig zag rachis and short bracts that has from 20 to 30 flowers. Coelogyne pandurata
This large, hot growing species is an epiphyte found on large trees near rivers in Malaya to Borneo.  The flowers open simultaneously and are highly fragrant of honey but are short lived.  Blooming size plant in 6 inch pot, $40.

Coelogyne usitana
This small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte or lithophyte is found only on Mindanao Island in The Philippines.  It blooms at almost any time of the year with flowers (up to 20) opening successively on a pendulous,  long, fractiflex (zig-zaggy inflorescence) rachis. Coelogyne xyrekes
A medium sized, warm to cool, shady, growing epiphyte, found in Thailand, Penninsular Malaysia and Sumatra in montane forests. Blooms in the late winter on  a long, successively, flowering inflorescence.
 
Coelogyne (usitana x lawrenciana)
Coel. lawrenciana (pictured at the left) is a medium sized, cool to warm growing, epiphytic species that is found in the Himalayas and Vietnam blooming fall through spring. Cymbidium Little Black Sambo 'Black Magic' AM/AOS

Cyrtopodium polyphyllum x sib (synonym paranense)
This large, hot to warm growing terrestrial species is found from Colombia to  Brazil. In nature it grows as a lithophyte or in sandy soil.  The tall, elongated, spindle-shaped, pseudobulbs carry deciduous, long, narrow leaves.  Many yellow, long lasting, fragrant flowers are produced in the spring to early summer.  Blooming size plant in 5 inch pot, $30.

Dendrochilum stenophyllum
A small, warm growing ephiphyte endemic to the Island Of Luzon, the Philippines in montane forests at elevations of 1000 meters. Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $30. 

Gongora tricolor
The three colored Gongora, red, yellow and green. Grow this warm intermediate to warm also. In 6 inch basket, $30.

Habenaria dentata
This medium to large , temperature tolerant terrestrial is found in the Assam, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, western Himalayas, Bhutan, Myanamar, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Ryukyu Islands, China, Taiwan and Japan. Blooming size plant in 3.5 inch pot,  $25.

 

Habenaria medusae aka myriotricha
Found in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos as a small, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid that needs a dry winter rest and blooms in the spring and summer.  Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $25.


 

Haraela retrocalla x sib
A very miniature, Taiwanese, epiphytic species is temperature tolerant and needs medium bright light to grow well. It does best if mounted and  blooms  all year round. Plants are blooming size and mounted, $20.

Habenaria rhodocheila 'Orange'  x sib
This terrestrial orchid goes completely dormant during the winter, and should not be watered at all. In the spring, watering and feeding should resume at the first sign of the plant emerging.  Plant in 2 1/4 inch pot, $25.

Holcoglossum kimballiana
This is a pendant, warm growing, Vanda-like epiphyte from Myanamar, Thailand, Laos, and south China growing  mostly on rocks in exposed locations but occasionally on trees in partial shade with a long stem carrying terete. The flowers are white with lavender lip, long-lived, fragrant and bloom in the summer. . Best mounted on cork or tree fern, given cool to warm temperatures, bright light and plenty of water while growing and a short dry rest in the winter. These plants are mounted and near blooming size, $25.

Holcoglossum wangii
It is found in Southern China and Vietnam as a miniature pendulous  species.  It is temperature tolerant. The flowers are white with fuchsia markings. Plant in a 2 inch pot, $22. 

Isabellia pulchella
Only two species in this genus. This lavender flowering miniature is found in southern Brazil. It will grow  cool to warm, in moderate shade. Keep damp all the time. Unusual character is the basket like weave of fibers covering the pseudobulbs. In 4 inch basket, $25.

  Koelensteinia ionoptera
I first saw this plant in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin. It is a small, temperature tolerant epiphyte which produces attractive small white flowers with purple stripes. Plant in 4 inch pot, $30.

Leptotes bicolor
 A miniature epiphyte from Brazil and Paraguay with terete pencil-like psuedobulbs. Temperature tolerant from cool to hot, produces 1 to 3, successively opening, fragrant flowers on a short inflorescence occurring in the late winter or early spring. The seed pods are used for flavoring in Brazil in ice cream and sherbet. Plants are mounted, $25.

 

  Liparis grossa

  Liparis nutans
Found in Southern Philippines as a cool to warm growing epiphyte and lithophyte in shady forests with year round rainfall and constant high humidity.  Blooms in the summer or fall, on a many flowered  inflorescence. In 2 1/4 inch pot, $12. Click on the name to see a picture.

Lycaste lasioglossa

Lycaste macrophylla 'Herrman'
Plants are found in Costa Rica, throughout South America.  Grow in diffused bright light in cool to warm temperatures. The potting medium should be a little moist between watering.

Maxillaria arbuscula
A temperature tolerant, miniature terrestrial found in Peru and Ecuador. The flowers are creamy with red spots. Blooming size plant in 4 inch basket, $30.

Maxillaria hennisiana
A miniature ,  warm growing epiphyte found in Panama, Colombia and Ecuador in mangrove swamps and primary forests. The  single reddish-brown flowers open all at once. Very limited blooming size plant in 6 inch basket, $40.

A Central and South American miniature Maxillaria that is quite adaptable to various conditions.  Cream colored flowers marked with brown.  Blooming size plant in 3 inch pot, $20.



 
Mediocalcar decoratum
Commonly know as the "Portulaca orchid" or "candy corn orchid". With it's succulent needle-like leaves, its creeping habit and flower structure this does not look like an orchid. Grow intermediate to cool and it will bloom several times a year.  But it is really cool. In 4 inch clay pot, $18

Miltonia spectabilis var. rosea
Warm growing species from Brazil, Blooms in the spring and summer. These are select divisions from our best flowered plant. The flowers are large, well-shaped with a purple lip and darker purple stripes. Sepals and petals are cream with a darker blush overlay.   Blooming size plant in 4 inch baskets. $25.

Neofinetia falcata
This small (under 5") , monopodial, vandanaceous plant is found in Japan, Korea and the Ryukyu Islands It is a warm to cool grower, found in areas that have shady summers, and because of the deciduous trees that they grow on, almost full sun in the winter. It will tolerate temperatures in the 30s, is very fragrant. In 4 inch pot, $25.

Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird'  (Neofinetia falcata x Rhyncostylis coelestis)
A really cute miniature that produces very fragrant white tinged blue flowers. The growth habit is monopodial and they prefer bright light and warm temperatures.  In 4 inch pot, $25.

Paphinia Majestic 'H&R' (4N) x Paphinia cristata
Paphinia species are found throughout South America. The hybrid Majestic is herrerae x cristata.   Phaius tankervilleae 'Rabin's Raven' AM/AOS
Flowers are extrremely flat, sepals and petals cream-colored with very deep mahogany overlay; lip uniform burgundy. Blooming size plants are in 4.5 inch pots,  $25.

Plectrelminthus caudatus
This is a genus of one species from West Africa to French Guinea. Plant has thick roots from the base of the stem, the pendent spikes holding up to 12 flowers arise from the lower leaf axis. The flowers fleshy, pale green tinted with bronze, a white lip and fragrant. Intermediate to warm growing. Near Blooming Size Plants in 6 inch baskets  $35.

Podangis dactylocerus
This temperature tolerant, mini-fan equitant is from Angola, Cameroon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zaire.  This epiphyte (occasional lithophyte) produces glasslike, long lasting flowers and is found near waterfalls or rivers. The flowers occur in the spring through fall. Best grown in a pot with a coarse mix to provide excellent drainage,  humid, semi-shaded conditions and a definite drying out between waterings. These plants are near blooming size and mounted.

Polystachya galeata
This is a warm growing epiphyte found in Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Zaire and Angola in lowland  evergreen forests  in full to dappled sun. The flowers are strongly scented. Plant in 3 inch pot, $22.

  Psygmorchis pusilla
This miniature sized, hot to warm growing, fan-shaped, twig epiphyte is found from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Trinidad, Venezuela, Surinam, Guyana and French Guyanan. It is a twig epiphyte found on trees and shrubs in pastures, coffee plantations and hot humid forests at low elevations. The flowers are very characteristic of oncidiums. Plants are mounted and $20.

  Scaphyglottis violacea
Forty-five species in this genus, the name here refers to the color of the flower. These are warm growing under shady conditions. Mounted on tree fern totems, $25.

Sedirea japonica
This miniature , temperature tolerant species from Japan produces 6 to 10 flowers which open in succession. The flowers are greenish white, with purple bars on the lip and are very their sweetly fragrant. This monopodial species can be mounted or potted in a coarse fast draining medium and grown in  high humidity, medium light intermediate temperatures, and  with good air circulation. Vanda coerulea
Intense blue colored vanda which blooms Summer to Fall. Grow bright, and intermediate to warm temperatures. Near blooming size plant will bloom in the fall in 4 inch basket, $30.

  Vanda sanderiana var. alba x Christensonia vietnamica
This is breeding for compact, small vandaceous hybrids. The flowers will be green and white. Grow warm and sunny.  Seedlings in 4 inch pot, $25.

Vanda Sansai Blue
This plant produces the highly desirable large blue vanda type flowers with heavy tessalation. These are not clones so you will get variation as pictured at the left. Easy to grow and bloom 2-3 times a year in bright light.  Blooming size plant in 4 inch basket, $35.
