Calanthe rosea
This small deciduous, temperature tolerant, terrestrial orchid is found
in Myanamar and Thailand. Flowers appear after leaf fall and
before the new leaves begin to appear. This terrestrial species
and the following needs a dry winter rest. The leaves will yellow and
fall off and then the plant will bloom. After the flowers fall
off, repot and wait for the new growth to appear to resume

Gastrochilus japonicus
Gastrochilus are
distributed in India to Eastern Asia and south to Malaysia and the
nearby islands. The monopodial short to long stemmed plants grow
epiphytically and are similar to Aerides in appearance. The short
inflorescence produce several fleshy flowers massed close together. Grow
in moderate shade and high humidity either mounted or in baskets with
