Paph. acmodontum x sib ('Giant' x 'Gigantic Beauty') or ('Mt. Toro' x 'Frement Peak')
A relatively newly described (30 years) species from the Philippines. The petals are light lavender in color and beautifully shaped overall.  Blooming size plant 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. appletonianum x sib ('JP' x 'Big Apple')
This species is widely distributed in China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Has gone by the names wolterianum and hainanense. Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. argus
Very distinctive with its tall inflorescence and heavily spotted, untwisted petals. It is endemic to the north of the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Plants in 4.5 inch pot, previously bloomed, $35.

Paph. armeniacum x sib ('#210' x '#212') This species has been in great demand since its description in 1982. It flooded the markets after that time but now is relatively difficult to find. We have seed grown, blooming size, two growth plants in 4/4.5 inch pots with 6-8 inch leaf spans for $45.

Paph. bargigerum
A true miniature producing multiple growths and flower spikes in a 3 inch pot. First description in 1940 lost then rediscovered in 1985 in China. Blooming size plant in three inch pot, $25.  Out of Stock 02/27/10
Paph. bellatulum x sib ('#1' x '#2') In the past this was a not so easy species to grow although this particular grex has bloomed easily. Likes bright light but no direct sun and does not tolerate warm evening temperatures.  Blooming size plants in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. callosum x sibling ('Rainbow' x 'HOF' AM/AOS) ('Green Valley' x 'Vini-a-mei) ('Cover Girl' AM/AOS x 'Ching Hua V-12' SM/TPS)
Is native to south-east Asia. It has been used extensively in hybridization. We offer blooming size plants in 4 inch pots, $30. You can stipulate which parents in the comments section if you like. If not we will pick.

  Paph. chamberlainianum aka Paph. victoria-regina 'No.1' x sib
These arrived labeled chamberlainianum but are now accepted as victoria-regina. Distribution of this species is very limited to a sx mall area in Sumatra which overlaps with Paph. victoria-mariae. The distinguishing character is the 6 rosy-purple lines in the dorsal sepal. These plants are near blooming size in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. charlesworthii x sib ('charlesworthii' x 'Bear' SM/TPS)
The distinctly colored and shaped dorsal of this species makes it easy to identify it and its hybrids. Distribution is Burma, N. Thailand, and SW China. Six to eight inch leafspan plant in 4 inch pot, $35.

 Paph. delenatii
First discovered in southern Vietnam in 1922, thought to be extinct in nature, rediscovered in 1992. Most plants in cultivation today came from a single survivor grown and reproduced by Vacherot & Lecoufle. Fragrant, round pale pink colored flowers with a contrasting dark pink staminode (nose). Often two flowered, very attractive foliage.  Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot $35.

Paph. delenatii var. album ('Ching Hua' x self)
These are near blooming size plants in 3 inch pots. Several have bloomed and produce beautiful, round flowers with a yellow center. $40.

  Paph. delenatii var. 'dunkle'
A very darkly pigmented clone of delenatii with so much pigment there is a dark purple border on the leaves. These plants are in 3.5 inch pots with 4 inch leaf span, $40.

Paph. druryi x sib
When this species is used in hybridizing, the prominent brown stripe in the dorsal is transmitted to offspring. Two - three growth blooming size plants in 4.5 inch pot, $30.

Paph. emersonii x sib
This species is can be found in S China and N Vietnam. This is a very showy species with a large white flower and a yellowish-orange lip. It is now placed in a new subsection Emersonianum with Paph. hangianum. These are 4-6 inch seedlings, $35.

Paph. fairrieanum ('#2' x '#3') ('150' x sib) normal coloration
First described in 1857, this species is found in Sikkim and north-east India. These plants are blooming size with a 6-8-10 inch leaf span in 4 inch pot, $35. You may stipulate which parents in the comments section if you like.

Paph. glanduliferum hort gardineri ('Joe' x 'Ron')
These flowers have a yellow base with burgundy stripes and very twisted petals.  Near blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $30.

Paph. glaucophyllum 'Red Flower' x self
The most distinctive feature of this attractive orchid is its ovate yellow dorsal sepal, finely speckled with maroon dots. Found specifically in East Java. These plants are near blooming size and in 4 inch pots, $35.

There has been a lot of discussion on Dr. Tanaka's web page as to whether these are truly as identified. He indicates they may be glaucophyllum var. moquetianum fma album. I guess this is what you call splitting a taxonomist's hairs. In 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. godefroyae  x sib
Is a highly variable species with some flowers resembling bellatulum and others resembling concolor.  These plants are blooming size in 4 inch pots with 6 inch leaf spans, $35. 

  Paph. godefroyae var. leucochilum x sib ('#14' x '#16')
Some do not accept the varietal name leucochilum, and lump these in with Paph. godefroyae. Near blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. gratrixianum x sib
Found in Laos and Vietnam and closely related to Paph. villosum. The flowers are distinguished by their glossy, varnished character and the raised maroon spots. Blooming size plants in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. haynaldianum ('#1' x '#2')
The dorsal sepal is cream suffused with yellow green in the center, boldly spotted with maroon at the base and with purple margins. Petals are yellow green and boldly spotted with maroon. The pouch is khaki colored. Plants have two growths with 10-12 inch leaf spans and are in 4.5 or 5  inch pots, $45.

Paph. henryanum x sib ('Bear' SM/TPS x 'Sie Fong' BM/TPS)
Finally a grex of these species that is easy to grow and easy to bloom. This is a small slipper orchid but these are flowering with a natural spread of about 3 inches. Its distribution straddles the Yuannan/Vietnamese border. It grows on north-facing steep slopes. Single growth plants, blooming size plants in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. hookerae var. volonteanum x sib
A rare species with bright purple tips on the flower petals .  The contrast between the bright purple and the dark browns and greens of the pouch is very striking. When not in flower the plant has beautiful mottled leaves.  Plants have 4-6 inch leaf spans in 4 inch pot, $35. Paph. hookerae is pictured at the left.

  Paph. insigne var. Sanderae 'Waunake Warrior' AM/AOS x self
This species is highly variable in coloration and size.. The form sanderae has bright canary yellow and white flowers, with green veins and a very few purple specks on the dorsal sepal. Its distribution is very limited to NE India.  These plants have a 10-12 inch leaf span in 4 inch pot, $35.

  Paph. kolopakingii var. topperi
This variety of the Paphiopedilum kolopakingii is just as large as the normal one below.  The only difference between the two is that the topperi variant is green(er). These plants are blooming size and in 5inch pots, $60.

Paph. kolopakingii
This is the giant of the Paphiopedilum world. Plants need to be very very large before they bloom but when they do they can reward you with up to 14 flowers on the inflorescence. These plants are blooming size and in 5 inch pots, $60.

  Paph. leucochilum x sib ('#10' x '#3')
These came in labelled Paph. leucochilum ie at the species level. It seems that most have accpted this as a variety of Paph. godefroyae. It seems that the orginal descriptions had P. godefroyae on the western side of the Thailand peninsula and P. leucochilum on the east side. These are blooming size plants inn 4 inch pots, $35.

 Paph. liemianum x sib  
The characteristic foliage makes this species the easiest in the complex to identify. The underside of the leaf is marked with dense rows of dark maroon-purple spots.

Paph. lowii x sibling ('Bear'BM/TPS x sib)
This species is one of the most wide spread of the multi-flowering types. It is also one of the few epiphytic species found growing on the braches of trees. Near Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. malipoense ('Ma' x 'Bear' SM/TPS)
This green parvisepalum speces has a fragrance reminiscent of raspberries,  These are blooming size plants with 8-10 inch leaf spans, $35.

Paph. micranthum
Despite its name has a remarkably large flower. In nature these plants grow in deep shade on the karst limestone hills of southeastern Yunnan, China, Guangxi and Guizhou. These are small plants with 4-6 inch leaf spans in 3 inch pots, however near blooming size, $35. Out of Stock 02/26/10
Paph. moquetteanum ('Pine Knot' x self)
Depending on who you read this is an independent species or Paph. glaucophyllum var. moquetteanum. We go with the former. It is native to Cianjur, Southeast Java, Indonesia. Once it starts to flower, it can bloom continuously for months. This species has one of the largest flowers and most brilliant colors of the alliance. These plants are near blooming size in 4 inch pots, $25.

Paph. niveum x sibling ('niv-10' x 'niv-chen')
Flowers of this species vary considerably in size and amount of purple stippling. They are closely related to Paph. concolor. Blooming size plants in 4 inch pots,$25.

These have bloomed out var. roebellinii, with great color. Blooming size plant in 5 inch pot, $55.

Paph. priumulinum var. flavum or album
There are two color forms of Paph. primulinum var. purpurascens which is the colored form and P. flavum or album which is the yellow-green form. In 4.5 inch pot,  $35.

Paph. purpuratum x sib ('Ching Hua #1' x 'Ching Hua #2')
This species is often used to transmit it's deep purple color to offspring.  Near blooming size plants in 4 inch pot with 6-8 inch leaf span, $35.

  Paph. richardianum x  self aka Paph. lowii var. richardianum
This differs from the typical variety in that this variety has smaller flowers, a smaller non-reflexed dorsal sepal, shorter more pendent petals, and a lip with a deeply V-shaped apex to the orifice. Two years from blooming in a 4 inch pot, $35.



Paph. rothschildianumum x sib ('Green Valley' SM/TPS x 'Dou Fang')

Paph rothschildianum x sib ('Jungle Selected' x 'Atlantis' SM/TPS)
A customer (Ed Hoyas) finally sent a picture of one of this grex that bloomed and WOW. The color is intense and the shape is great. These are large, blooming size plants in 5 inch pots, $125.

Paph. sanderianum
Discovered in Bornea in 1885 this species is well know because of its yard long petals. In nature it grows on vertical north-east or east facing limestone cliffs in deep shade for most of the day. It receives only diffuse sunlight in the morning. This fact is extremely important to anyone adding this plant to their collection. We have plants that are in 4 inch pots with a 12-14 inch leaf-span and are several years from blooming the parents are ('HS select' x 'Bear select') $75. Paph. spicerianum x sib('Kenta' HCC/AOS x 'Mia Hua' BM/TPS)
Most distinctive flower of the genus with the bold maroon vein in the large white dorsal. Found in NE India, Burma and SW China. These plants have produce flowers larger that one would expect with these species. Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $35

Paph. stonei 'Bear' SM/TOGA x self
The 'Bear' stonei won the equivalent to an AM in Taiwan. Plants have 6 inch leaf span and are in 4 inch pot, $45. This species is increasingly difficult to find.

Paph. sukhukulii x sib ('Althea' AM/AOS x 'Muscles' AM/AOS)
At one point this was one of the commonest species in cultivation. In nature it has a very limited distribution in North-east Thailand. We are very excited about this grex, produced by two very well know and highly awarded parents. We had one bloom this season that had measurements close to the FCC awards. Is distinguished from the variety below in that the petals are longer and extend beyond the lip. Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. superbiens var. curtisii ('Ching Hua Giant' x '#3')
The name Paph. curtisii persists in cultivation, but it has been shown that it is simply a variety of Paph superbiens var. superbiens having narrower and shorter petals that never go lower than the lip. These plants are blooming size with 8-10 inch leaf spans in 4 inch pots, $35

Paph. venustum x self
This species was the first to be described and introduced into cultivation in 1816. It is readily recognized by its mottled leaves and prominently veined pouch. The habitat of this species lies in some of the wettest places on earth. Every time I see this plant blooming, I can't help but think brain. The pouch is marked to look just like one. These are  blooming size plants with 8-10 inch leaf spans in 4 inch pots, $35.

  Paph. venustum var pardhani x sib
These plants came in with this varietal name, which I cannot validate. The closest to this is var. pardinum which is not accepted. However all that said we did bloom several of these last round (failed to take pictures) and they are different from the Paph. venustum above. So we will leave them with this varietal name.   Paph. victoria-mariae
This warm growing terrestrial with green mottled purple leaves, is found on the island of Sumatra. Blooming size plant in 4 inch pot $35.

Paph. villosum 'Hung Sheng' x self
This species is a variable species with three varieties recognized. The typical variety ranges from N. Burma and SW Yunnan to N Thailand. These plants are near blooming size in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. wardii var. album 'Ching Hua' X self
Small plants produce flowers of the same size and shape as normal colored forms, but these are totally devoid of color. These are blooming size plants in 4 inch pots, $35.

Paph. wenshanense ('Yellow' x self) (formally conco-bellatulum)
Talk about confusing, there is the now defunct name (never formally accepted) conco-bellatulum thought to have been a nturaral hybrid found in the far NW regions of Vietnam. The designation Conco-bellatulum, a manmade hybrid of (Paph. concolor x bellatulum) and now wenshanense which is the accepted species name for the Indo-Chinese species. These plants are blooming size in 4 inch pot, $35.

Paph. wilhelminiae
Formerly a Paph. glanduliferum  variety now a separate species. Smaller, and much darker flowers on very compact bushy plants. Previously bloomed,  multi-growth plant in 4.5 inch pot $40.   Out of Stock 10/29/09
