New May 5th 

Masdevallia Golden Monarch   (M. Golden Angel x M. Monarch)   Large flowers, in rich gold to orange, held high above the leaves.  Very nice and a big flower.  3 inch clay pots in bud  $30. Thank you Lynn for pictures of both Masdevallia hybrids. S2A

Dendrochilum filiforme     Small species plant from the Philippines.  Will grow easily in a wide variety of conditions from cool to hot.  Miniature, fragrant flowers arranged in two rows.    3 inch pots, full with multiple spikes at this time.  $25 each. S3A

Dendrobium victoria reginae x Den. glomeratum (sulawesiense)   Nice, hearty plants in bud at this time.  The deep purple flowers are long lasting and can appear at any time.   This is a warm growing Dendrobium that does NOT require any seasonal variation or winter rest.   The canes grow, mature, drop their leaves and begin to flower, in any season of the year.  4 inch clay pots in bud for $25. Pleurothallis stricta   3 inch clay pots in spike for $30   Nice species from Colombia and Ecuador.  The flowers are brick red and bloom constantly for us. Found in the cloud forest at moderately high elevations and prefer to grow intermediate to cool. S5A

Masdevallia virgo-cuencae    species from Ecuador.  It grows at an elevation of 8,850 feet.  Intermediate to cool temperatures will be best.  The flower is a beautiful two-toned color.  3 inch pots for $25. S6A

Oncidium longipes    species. 
A Brazilian epiphytic species that can adapt to cool or warm growing conditions. Grow in high humidity, bright indirect light and good air circulation. Water often while growing and then less as the pseudobulbs mature for a dry winter rest. Growing in 4 inch baskets and in bud.  $25 S1

This is a new mericlone of this hybrid. Bright red flowers on medium sized strong plants. Easy to grow and bloom in 4 inch pot, $30.  S2

While watering this morning I noticed that all these plants were spiking. These are mature plants with multiple growths in 5-5 1/2 inch pots.  Some of the flowers produced by this grex will be  award quality, $40.  S7

Paph. Arnold J. Khlem (primulinum x venustum)
I wondered about this hybrid when we first got it in. I knew the primulinum would impart vigorous growth and ease of bloom. As it started blooming it was very popular, multiple flowers that had a yellow-green base with the markings of a venustum (some faint some bold) In four inch pot, $35. S21

This is going to be a very interesting hybrid crossing the primary delenatii hybrid back onto the delenatii parent.  Plant in 4 inch pot, $35.  S24

Paph. superbiens var. curtisii ('Ching Hua #6' x 'Noyo')
 
The species name Paph. curtisii persists in cultivation, but it has been shown that it is simply a variety of Paph superbiens having narrower and shorter petals that never go lower than the lip.  In 4.5 inch pot, $35.  S25

Vaschon x Onc. ornithorynchum 'Lambaba'  (mericlone of yet unnamed hybrid)   A very attractive and hearty plant.  Flowers remind me of a small, lavender miltonia, but the plant is more vigorous and easy to grow and flower.  New to the market place this year.    4 inch pots in spike for $30. Bllra. Diana Dunn 'Mt. Pisgah'    This is a different mericlone of one of our favorite intergeneric oncidium hybrids.  The flower is very similar to the "Newberry" clone, but on this one, the spikes will get taller and make a bigger display.  This flower is exceptional for its bold pattern.  4 inch pots in spike for $30. Cymbidiella rhodochilla
A large, cymbidium-like, warm growing plant from Madagascar It is an evergreen plant that requires regular watering and fertilizer year round. Plant in 5 inch pot, $40. S36

Oncidium flexuosum  (species)  Hearty, easy growing species from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.  It can thrive in  a range from cool to warm growing.    Plants are bushy, climbing on top of themselves.  Very long spikes appear in the early spring and take a couple of months to develop.  At the end of the spike large clusters of bright yellow flowers are produced.   A very easy plant to grow, bloom and enjoy.    We grow them in baskets.  $30 each.  S39
